Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems software to meet machine requirements.
  • Write functional specifications and technical specifications for machine and automation control systems. 
  • Specify and develop control logic software and user interface applications.
  • Assist with startup and debug control system software and the development of system documentation.
  • Interface with vendors, customers, and other Makino team members to successfully complete assigned projects and tasks.


Required Skills
  • Extensive knowledge in MS Windows based software development and languages.
  • Working knowledge of machine controls and their application.
  • Able to utilize Office products: Word, Excel, etc.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • 20 to 30 percent overnight travel is required.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an Associate degree in Engineering Technology with equivalent work experience. 
  • A minimum of three years’ of related work experience.
  • Experience with C and/or PLM386 programming language(s).
  • Experience with ladder logic programming is desirable but not required.
