The Opportunity

Directs and monitors financial activities of a Makino business unit by performing the following duties personally or through centralized resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide financial expertise to management in evaluating potential business transactions and in managing financial and physical resources.
  • Direct preparation of budget, review budget proposals, monitor actual performance against budget, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Prepare financial justifications of proposed capital expenditures to indicate impact on sales, profitability, cash flow, and return on investment calculation.
  • Perform monthly financial analysis of business and performance measurements, identify and recommend to Management opportunities for improvement.
  • Advise Management on current financial operating results to include profitability, inventory levels, collect ability of accounts receivable, manpower levels, return on assets, and other aspects as appropriate.
  • Educate and mentor key individuals within the organization on financial aspects of the individual’s job function and the impact it has on overall results.
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by management.
  • Interact as liaison between own business unit and central services such as finance, accounting, payroll, risk management, tax, and technology information.
  • Supervise senior accountants.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA desirable.
  • 5-7 years' experience in finance or accounting, experience in Big 4 is desirable.
